Dr Mamo Jawla Patron of Smilegambia Project

I am a citizen of Niani Kunting village, Sami District, Central River Division.

The proceeds from accrued funds will be used to purchase long lasting insecticide treated nets to combat the menace of malaria which is a number one killer disease in The Gambia.

I have agreed to serve as a patron of this noble and worthwhile gesture which could save lives of all at risk of malaria particularly innocent children under the age of five years as well as pregnant women.

I am a public health physician and graduated from the University of Leeds in UK. I was the manager of the National Malaria Control Programme of The Gambia for five years. I also served as a Malaria Coordinator of an inter country 'Health for Peace Initiative' comprising The Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Senegal and Guinea Conakry. I am currently working for the World Health Organisation in The Gambia as an adviser on Disease Prevention and Control particularly in the areas of Malaria, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS.
